A client from California contacted us with concerns about his soon-to-expire B1/B2 visa. Due to financial constraints, he was unable to afford legal fees elsewhere and reached out to SFINY Immigration Services for assistance. Recognizing the urgency—especially given the risk of detention if his visa expired—we prioritized his case. Although the USCIS filing fee was required due to an approved family petition, the client managed to cover this expense. SFINY Immigration Services waived legal service fees to support him. The case was complex: the petitioner, his son, was dealing with mental illness and had been incarcerated. Nevertheless, we secured the necessary affidavit of support from his son and an additional sponsor. We expedited the filing to ensure a receipt before the visa’s expiration. After responding promptly to a subsequent RFE, the client was ultimately granted his green card. The case was filed on April 11, 2025 and approved on September 25, 2025.

A message from SFINY Immigration Services:

We greatly appreciate any donations to help meet the needs of our community. Many individuals are facing challenges in applying for immigration benefits, even though they are eligible. Like this gentleman in particular, many other seniors in our community may also require our services. SFINY cannot address these challenges alone and relies on your help and support. We invite you to contribute as much as you can; your generosity may also help reduce your taxable income for the year. Your support can make a significant difference for those who lack the resources to manage their documentation and pay for legal services. Thank you for considering a donation.
